Hi! I'm Yunus Çağ Köylü, a Cinematographer based in Hamburg, Germany.
I was born in Istanbul and grew up in Antalya, Turkey. After dropping out of film school in Istanbul, I spent two years doing street photography, writing and directing short films, and working as a camera assistant on hotel commercials. I then moved to Germany to study film and completed both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts (HFBK Hamburg).
During and after my studies, I worked as a Cinematographer on various projects, including short films and music videos. My feature film debut as a Cinematographer, Lonig & Havendel, premiered in competition at the Max Ophüls Prize in 2025 and with the same Film I won the German Cinematography Award (Deutscher Kamerapreis) in the "Newcomer" category in 2026.
